Environmental reviews
Environmental reviews are often undertaken as a first stage towards developing an environmental management system
This type of review can provide essential management information regarding, wastes, energy use, air emissions, and water emissions of a specific site (office, canteen, production area), and can be used to highlight areas of concern or where further investigative work may be required.
When embarking on a programme of environmental measures, it is important to chose a range of initiatives including some that are ‘quick wins’ so that employees can readily see how their actions are making a difference. If too many difficult or complex issues are selected, it is easy for staff to become disheartened at an apparent lack of progress.
Often these types of review lead to actions that improve performance and efficiency.

A key output of an Environmental Review is to identify priority areas for action. We firmly believe that it is also important to translate improvements into meaningful values e.g. a saving of x kWH electricity by switching lights, computers and printers off over a defined period has far more impact when it is expressed in terms of equivalent tonnes carbon dioxide saved.

These reviews can assist the implementation or improvement of Environmental Management Systems including ISO 14001, alternatively they can be developed to provide a bespoke environmental management system specifically to meet your environmental aspirations.
